Established on August 12, 2004, Community Development Center has remained committed to serving communities throughout Rocky Mount, NC.
Our founder built this organization with a focus on fostering growth and demonstrating that meaningful change can and will happen within the community.​​
Our Founder
Georgia Lynch
Mrs. Lynch established Community Development Center, Inc. to connect families, individuals, and communities to resources that could enrich their lives, improve their quality of living, and aid in building resilience.
Our History
This organization started through one woman's determination to help others in the community. Georgia Lynch could not bear to see families struggling to make ends meet so she searched and developed partnerships with others who had the means and resources to make a difference with her. Mrs. Lynch connected with families through collaboration with school systems, Red Cross, social workers, and a host of other organizations.

Among the thousands of people served over the last two to three decades, they included individuals of all ages from school-aged children and their parents to homeless adults and children, and senior citizens. Not only has Community Development Center provided and linked others with physical and financial assistance, but with leisure and recreational activities.

In 2025, Mrs. Lynch is still on her mission to unite families and communities through love and support.
